Designs of the Past

Thursday, March 11, 2010
You don't see many buildings being built like this one anymore. I wonder how long it took to design and build the columns and the trim work. I would have loved to get a shot of this at night with the street lights on.

I believe this may have been a post office building, but I am not entirely sure. I shot this last summer in Norfolk, Virginia.

"Tech"nical shots

Monday, February 15, 2010
Some shots from a trip to Virginia Tech a few weeks ago. Both shots were at the Inn at VA Tech where we were staying. Yes, I know the title is very cheesy (you might say "hokie"), but I couldn't think of anything else.

DC #1

Friday, July 3, 2009
This year we decided to go to Washington DC for one last vacation before the baby came. I will be posting photos from vacation over the next few days. This was one of the first shots I got. The last time I was in DC, you couldn't get this close to the White House. This was shot between the bars at the end of the lawn.

City Hall

This one's from a few months back. It was taken in Lancaster, South Carolina while I was down there for a wedding.

Clocks

Friday, June 5, 2009
Shot in downtown Roanoke. Got a little barrel distortion with this one, but I still like it. It kind of gives it the feeling of being shot with a fisheye lens (maybe a little).

Jars in a Window

Monday, June 1, 2009
Another shot from Fincastle. This one was taken inside the town history museum. This room was originally the only room in the building. It was a lawyers office.

Door #2

Sunday, May 31, 2009
This shot was taken in downtown Fincastle, Virginia in Botetourt County. History Fact- I went in the town museum while there today and learned that Botetourt County once (1770's) went all the way to the Mississippi River.

Storage Buildings

This one can be paired with "old building" photo from the other day. These storage buildings were located behind that building.

An old barn in Floyd County, Virginia.

Old Building

Tuesday, April 28, 2009
Another photo from the trip to Floyd the other day. Not sure what this building used to be used for. A sign on one of the doors simply said "retired business closed."
