A few from over Christmas break. Both from Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Some shots from a trip to Virginia Tech a few weeks ago. Both shots were at the Inn at VA Tech where we were staying. Yes, I know the title is very cheesy (you might say "hokie"), but I couldn't think of anything else.

Images from Virginia Beach over Christmas break. Didn't see much wildlife (two birds to be exact), but did get a few pictures of other stuff.

Another water drop photo.

For those of you who may not know how these are done. Basically you bounce the flash off an object to light the bowl of water and hope you press the shutter at the right time to get a drop. Different objects will produce different looks in the water. You can search youtube for how-to videos.

The reflector for the first set of water drop photos I posted a few days ago was a dog toy.

Any guesses on this one???

Rachel was three months old today. It's hard to believe it has already been that long. Everyone told me after we found out we were going to have a baby that the time flew and I believe them.

Now she is smiling, laughing, making talking noises, and today she rolled over for the first time. I was lucky enough to be taking photos when it happened and I was able to catch the sequence.

A few from the beach yesterday. I didn't get any close up shots of the birds (that I liked), but did get some from a distance. The first three are at the fishing pier and the fourth is from the residential section of the beach.

Down at the beach by 6:15 this morning to take pictures of the sunrise. It was slightly cold. I think it may have been 30 degrees. After about 30 minutes I could not feel my hands anymore. The sun came up about 7:15, and then it was not too bad. At least the wind wasn't blowing there.

I've never taken any of the sunrise before; mostly because I'm never up that early. I don't know why I decided to wake up at 5:15 on my Christmas break.

I managed to get several shots that I like. I will post a few today and more over the next few days hopefully. Enjoy.

So we decided to do some more photos of my daughter in her Christmas dress. These seem to have better expressions from her. The last ones we did she wasn't smiling a whole lot. She wasn't being grumpy, but just wasn't smiling.
