Sunset over a small lake near my parent's home. As of late, I've regained an interest in sunsets. I love all the color possibilities and the uniqueness of each one.
Elephant
these guys weren't moving very much. It was a little warm for them I guess.
Siberian Tiger
at Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC. This one's my favorite from the day. The first time we passed this guy, he was sleeping. Not very interesting. Luckily, it was not very hot that day and the animals were actually moving around a little instead of hiding in the shade.
Sunset 4/16/11
I wanted to get on the parkway to shoot the sunset from Roanoke Mountain, but they shut the parkway down. I don't know if that was because of the marathon or the storms. The view of the sunset from Mill Mountain is obstructed by trees so I found the best alternative, a parking garage.
Bloom
I fought with the wind today to try to get a shot of a single dogwood bloom. Only managed to get one relatively sharp shot.
Will have to try this in the morning again before the sun gets high enough to shine directly on the tree.
Giggles
I don't remember what was so funny, but love the expression. This one's from her 18 month old set we did last weekend.
Lynchburg Memorial
A memorial in Lynchburg, VA (sorry I don't remember exactly what it was called). I added the grain and "old school" feel in Lightroom 3.
Faux hdr
Not a real hdr image. I messed with the sliders in Lightroom to give it a more "painted" look.
This was taken at the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway between Roanoke and Bedford.
Symmetry
Quick stop in downtown Lynchburg as I was passing through the other day. This building is currently under renovations as are many buildings there.
YMCA!
from a Bar Mitzvah reception at Hotel Roanoke at the end of last summer. Lots of fun!
Grillin'
Nice weather today = cooking dinner on the grill. Too bad tomorrow's going to be cold again.
18 months old
Rachel will be 18 months old this week. It's amazing how fast things are moving with her. You don't really believe everyone when they tell you how quick it goes until it's actually happening.
"It's indecent to meet boys at the footbridge!"
Borrowed quote from "The Music Man" (1962 version).
This is the arboretum up at James Madison University.
